The Element

Coming 2026

A teenage boy cleaning up a river in Tennessee - a mother in Australia teaching people to swim in mermaid tails - an indigenous diving community in Japan that is rapidly disappearing:

Just as our oceans are all interconnected, so too are our stories.

Rather than rely on data and catastrophe, the cinematic mosaic that is The Element explores ocean conservation through the lens of magic, myth and connection. At its heart, The Element is about relationships. In Western culture, we are taught to see the ocean as a resource, a threat, or a spectacle. It has often been objectified. But the people in this film know it as home, teacher, partner, origin.

Through art, movement, ritual and education, we are reminded that stewardship begins not with obligation, but with belonging. Through the eyes of Cash Daniels, Domi Abraham, and the Ama, The Element invites us to imagine how shifting our relationship to the ocean can shift our future in the ocean.
